Junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto goes up against Antonio Margarito at the Madison Square Garden in New York. The Cotto vs Margarito 2 bout will be held at a catch weight of 150, and Cotto’s title will be on the line for the fight. Many boxing’s experts are saying that Margarito will destroy Cotto this time again like what Margarito did last 2008. Another class of experts, are saying that Margarito’s power and natural size advantage will be too much for Cotto to withstand and that the Puerto Rican star will lose the Margarito vs Cotto fight. You can put me squarely in the latter category. I see Cotto losing the fight, and losing big time by a humbling knockout. The loss will have its effects on Cotto’s if it is as bad as I think it will be. It’s one thing losing by a decision, and quite another matter to be knocked out brutally. I think Cotto still hunted by the ghost of Margarito when he brutally beat by Margarito.
Miguel Cotto will have to go back to square one and consider his options. Some of them may see Cotto as a courageous individual for moving up in weight and fighting Cotto, a bigger and stronger fighter. Cotto would seem to have the perfect excuse if he were to lose. Okay, so I see Cotto taking a horrendous beating (again) at the hands of Antonio Margarito, a beating that leaves Cotto bloodied (again), battered and with numerous cuts on his face around both eyes and a busted nose (again). The healing from this beating will likely take a considerable amount of time.
I don’t of course see the result being any different than their first fight, but it would still be interesting all the same. You got to give Cotto his chance, don’t you? Let him risk fate a second time, even it means that he’s pounded black and blue and left near toothless. It’s all about trying to get revenge and give boxing fans their monies worth. Boxing fans won’t want to see Cotto get beaten up again if it means they have to pay money to see it. Cotto can count on me for being there to watch it. Like always, I’ll have my trusty laptop and decent internet connection to follow every second of action.

[...] We slowed down here and we’ll slow down in Vegas. Today was the last day of sparring of course. Margarito want to knockout Cotto this time. We’ll just do some mitts and go over the gameplan mentally, and just physically walk [...]

[...] you like it or not. Even if he did have wraps anyway I don’t believe it was the reason for Cotto losing, I picked Margarito to win the first fight because I believed he would walk Cotto down taking his [...]
